NEWS ReleaseHOPE COUNTRY CLUB: DEADLINE FOR COMMENTS TO NRCA
The Natural Resources Conservation Authority (NRCA) wishes to remind the public that Saturday, December 25, 1999 is the final date for the submission of written comments to the Authority on the Hope Country Club Development Project. This follows the decision of the Authority that the matter should be the subject of a Public Presentation. The Public Presentation was held at Jamaica College on Thursday, November 25th, 1999 and attracted an audience of some three hundred (300) persons. Under the procedures for the processing of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), the public is allowed to present written comments on the EIA for thirty (30) days following the Public Presentation. Written
comments must be submitted to the Permit and Licence Secretariat, NRCA,
10 Caledonia Avenue, Kingston 5 or faxed to 754-7595/754-7596. The NRCA urges members of the public who are submitting comments
to base these comments on the EIA document as it has been noted that some
of the comments received to date are opinions of the writers and not related
directly to the EIA. Copies
of the EIA remain available for public scrutiny at the Kingston &
