MONITORING REPORT
7th December 2001
DREDGING AND RECLAMATION PROGRAMME IN KINGSTON HARBOUR
The first activities
involved the preparation of the access road to the R1 bund and the assembly of the pipeline between H3 and the
R1 reclamation area. This began on the 18th November 2001.
Monitoring trips
were carried out on the following dates:
23/11/01, 29/11/01: Visits to the causeway to
review the bund construction and in response to reports of Mangrove removal.
26/11/01: Harbour
tour with Jan De Nul and Mott
McDonald re siting of turbidity meters.
4/12/01: Visit to causeway re monitoring programme
Access to R1 bund completed.
Approval being sought from NEPA by PAJ for construction of R1 bund without screens.
Mangroves at R1 bund access
removed without Mangrove Restoration Plan. Plan prepared at request of PAJ and
submitted to NEPA on 3/12/01
Dredging and bund construction at
R1 expected to begin on Tuesday, 11/12/01.
