NEPA Urges Renewal Of Beach Licence

February 12, 2014

Owners and operators of public and private beaches are reminded that all beach licences issued by the Beach Control Authority/Natural Resources Conservation Authority (BCA/NRCA) expire on Monday, 31 March 2014.

The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA), acting on behalf of the BCA reminds holders of beach licence to immediately commence the process of renewal. Applications for renewal must be accompanied by the stipulated fee no later than 15 February 2014.

Payment may be made at NEPA’s Accounts Branch at 10 Caledonia Avenue, Kingston 5, Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Beach licence holders are reminded that it is an offence under the Beach Control Act, 1955, to operate without the requisite beach licence. Failure to renew licence by 31 March 2014 will result in strong enforcement action and the need to submit a new application to NEPA.
