The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) served a Cessation Order on the Clarendon Distillers Limited (CDL) on Monday, March 12, 2012 for it to cease discharging trade effluent (dunder) into the environment without a licence. The Cessation Order was served pursuant to the environmental regulatory powers of the Natural Resources Conservation Authority (NRCA) under Section 11 of the NRCA Act.
The Cessation Order, a copy of which is attached, requires that CDL immediately cease the discharge of distillery waste water, properly known as a dunder.
