National Wood and Water Day…Focus on reforestation (planting of timber trees) in Watersheds

Saturday, October 6, 2012 is designated National Wood and Water Day. The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) will collaborate with community organisations, environmental stakeholders and the business community to plant timber trees in three Watershed Management Units across Jamaica: Rio Bueno/White River Watershed, Black River Watershed and Rio Grande Watershed.

The activities will form part of a reforestation initiative being undertaken by the Agency in support of effective watershed management under its Conservation and Protection Programme.
