The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) this morning (Friday, July 20) served a summons on the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA). The summons is in relation to breaches by the NSWMA of the Natural Resources Conservation Authority (NRCA) Act.
The breaches are for:
(1) Operating a solid waste disposal site without an Environmental Permit contrary to Section 9(2) of the NRCA Act, and
(2) Failing to provide information requested by the NRCA/NEPA relating to its waste disposal facility at Riverton in contravention of Section 17 of the NRCA Act.
