Crude Oil Spill On North South Highway Is Contained

The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA), has received information that a motor vehicle accident involving a truck on the North South Highway in the vicinity of Mammee Bay, St. Ann. Early report is that there was heavy crude oil spill on the roadway but this has since been contained in a manmade detention point (concrete pond).

The first responders - Jamaica Fire Brigade (JFB) and Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) are on location. NEPA has also activated its emergency response protocol.
