2017 Game Bird Shooting Season Ends September 24

The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) is reminding all hunters and members of the public that the 2017 Game Bird Shooting Season comes to a close on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 9:00 a.m.

The shooting of game birds during the closed season is strictly prohibited under the law. Any person caught shooting during the closed season will be prosecuted under the Wild Life Protection Act (WLPA) and on conviction before a Parish Judge may be fined up to One Hundred Thousand Dollars ( $100,000) or twelve (12) months imprisonment.
