Doctor's Cave Beach is located on Gloucester Avenue popularly known as 'the Hip Strip' in Montego Bay, St. James. It is one of Jamaica’s most recognizable and well known beaches. Doctor's Cave not only serves as a public bathing beach but is also used by hotel guests of surrounding hotels as a part of their guest packages.

Environmental Features

The beach consist of fine grain soft white sand while the backshore has large trees such as Coconut Palms and West Indian Almonds. Seagrass beds and a fringing coral reefs is located close off shore.

Accessibility and Parking

The beach is accessed directly off the Gloucester Avenue. The entrance to the beach only allows for pedestrian traffic. The beach does not have its own parking area, however, the Municipal Corporation offers paid parking along the main road.

Amenities

These include restroom and changing room facilities; rental of beach towels, umbrellas and lounge chairs and snorkel gears. Food services are also available.

The beach offers a large open space in the backshore for activities such as beach volleyball and football, snorkelling and glass
