Greenwood Beach is a seaside park located in Greenwood, St. James. The beach is located to the north of the Total Energies gas station in the area and to the west of the eastern border of Trelawny. The beach is approximately 25 minutes away from the Sangster International Airport by car.
The shoreline is dominated by cobble stones of all shapes and sizes. Sections of the nearshore are comprised of rock or old reef formations. The beach is approximately 5 metres wide and 50 metres long and is vegetated with coconut trees (Cocos spp) and seaside mahoe (Thespesia populnea).
The beach is accessible off the A1 main road, behind the Total Energies gas station. Parking is associated with the gas station.
The beach is currently in its natural state, and there is no existing infrastructure to facilitate recreational use. Bathroom and food services are available in association with the gas station.
The beach can be used as a rest stop or recreational activities outside of swimming or wading. Patrons can explore the Greenwood Great house which is located less than 10 minutes away from the beach. Restaurants are also nearby including the Spicy Hill Restaurant and Sports Bar, Chill out Hut and Father Bull Restaurant.
