Hermitage Beach is located in Hope Bay, Portland. The beach is located at the end of the community and about half an hour away from the St. Mary border.
The beach is characterised by coarse brown sand and cobblestones stretching approximately 500 metres along the coastline. The near to offshore regions of the beach is dominated by a fringing reef. The beach is vegetated with West Indian almond, coconut trees and white mangroves.
The beach is easily accessible as it is directly adjacent to the main road. There is no designated area for parking. However, parking is available along the main road.
The beach is currently in its natural state, and there is no existing infrastructure to facilitate recreational use. There are no food services.
Visitors can enjoy strolling.
