Location

Retreat Beach is a recreational beach located in the community of Lyssons, St Thomas.

Description & Environmental Features

The beach is comprised of medium to course dark sand mixed with dark and white cobble stones with mild erosion. The backshore is vegetated with large trees as well as small trees these include West Indian Almond (Terminalia catappa) Tree. There are several seagrass beds directly offshore.

Accessibility and Parking

Retreat Beach is located at the end of the Marine Drive just off the main north coast roadway, A4. There is no designated parking area, however there is an area on the beach to accommodate few vehicles.

Amenities

Restroom and changing room facilities are available to the beachgoers. The beach is suitable for swimming, strolling, beach volleyball and football. Various attractions are available nearby, including Retreat Park, Reggae Falls and Bath Botanical Gardens.
