Wards Bay Beach is located in Alligator Pond, Manchester. The beach is located less than ten minutes to the east of the community of Alligator Pond.
The natural sediment comprises of fine black and brown sand and medium to large pebbles. The beach is approximately 130 metres long with evidence of mild erosion. The beach features two structures — a small, abandoned building and a rubble mound groyne. Backshore vegetation includes coastal grasses and species of Acacia.
The beach is accessible via the main road adjacent to the beach. Its location is isolated with the closest community being more than 3 kilometres away. There is no designated area for parking, but a few patrons may choose to park along the main road.
The beach is currently in its natural state, and there is no existing infrastructure to facilitate recreational use. However, beachgoers can enjoy swimming and strolling. There are no food services.
Patrons can dine at nearby restaurants such as Little Ochie, or visit attractions such as the Black River Safari, YS Falls and the Norman Manley Museum in Roxborough.
